EN Biologist and evolutionary theorist Lynn Margullis and philosophers like Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari talk about how each individual organism of a species is actually a group, a membrane-enclosed clump of microbes that looks and acts like a single individual. Each subject would be nothing more than an infinite multiplicity made up of heterogeneous entities, which continually transform or intersect with each other and with other multiplicities. This definition is also linked to the Buddhist concepts of non-duality and the interdependence of all beings and phenomena.
Each interaction changes us, enriches us, connects us to unimaginable levels. In a single kiss we exchange 80 million microorganisms. The kiss is part of the Weareone photographic series, a record work of the Petri dishes produced as part of an investigation carried out with the collaboration of the Physiology, Genetics and Microbiology Department of the University of Alicante and the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department of the UMH. With their help, the microbial footprint of different groups of subjects was cultivated, collected before and after having different interactions to make visible the poetics of the scope of our daily contacts

SP La bióloga y teórica evolutiva Lynn Margullis y filósofos como Gilles Deleuze y Felix Guattari hablan de cómo cada organismo individual de una especie es en realidad un grupo, un cúmulo de microbios rodeado por una membrana que se ve y actúa como un solo individuo. Cada sujeto no sería sino una multiplicidad infinita formada por entidades heterogéneas, que se transforman o cruzan continuamente entre sí y con otras multiplicidades. Esta definición enlaza también con los conceptos budistas de no dualidad y de interdependencia de todos los seres y fenómenos.
Cada interacción nos cambia, nos enriquece, nos conecta a niveles inimaginables. En un único beso intercambiamos 80 millones de microorganismos. El beso forma parte de la serie fotográfica Weareone, un trabajo de registro de las placas de Petri producidas como parte de una investigación realizada con la colaboración del Dto. de Fisiología, Genética y Microbiología de la Universidad de Alicante y el Dto. de Bioquímica y Biología Molecular de la UMH. Con su ayuda se cultivó la huella microbiana de diferentes grupos de sujetos, recogida antes y después de tener distintas interacciones para hacer visible la poética del alcance de nuestros contactos diarios.
El beso muestra la huella microbiana oral de una persona antes y después de haber dado un beso en la boca. “La actividad de un “nosotros” trasciende la propia acción del beso para convertirse en una comunidad más allá de nuestra forma humana representando los diferentes modos de existencia” (Johanna Caplliure, comisaria).
